Do I need to follow Jesus to find God?
Yes! If you are looking for God and have no idea how to go about it, we recommend www.y-jesus.com.
Praise and Prayer points:
- Praise God for the growth in BIEC, for the way people are focussing on Him and for the new people who are coming.
- Ask for wisdom as new things are happening; that the Holy Spirit will guide and that Jesus will be glorified in everything we do.
- Pray for protection on our unity; that we would serve one another and really love one another.
- Ask for the right nominations for new Board members.
- Thank God for His hand on us; for all the arrangements for the Church Weekend Away and Mission Trips.
Support BIEC
Do you know how BIEC is supported and how you can
contribute?
Welcome to BIEC!
Happy new year. May your relationship with the Lord grow stronger than ever in 2012 and may His blessing overtake you.
Our 3rd Annual Church Weekend Away
This year's weekend away will take place from 11 - 13 May. Adonia's Bärgsunne in Schwanden/Sigriswil has been booked and is awaiting our invasion! The speakers for the weekend have already been confirmed - ask Ted for more information. The programme will include
- worship,
- teaching,
- in- and outdoor games,
- BBQ
- ... and lots more.
There is a playground, sportsfield, table football, table tennis and even a tree house.
The surrounding areas also offer a truck load of attractions. Schwanden has the Sirius Planetarium while there is a spa and heated pool in Merligen. Niederhorn offers child friendly hiking, mountain scootering and wilderness tours. And, of course, you can take a boat trip on lake Thun.
You can download the flyer or pick one up at the information table. For more information, contact Patricia Blaser.
Our Church currently includes people from over twenty-five nations,
who meet weekly in homes around the area, and together in the heart of Bern's
beautiful medieval old town. United by our faith in Jesus Christ and the use of
English - often as a second or third language, we invite you to join us in
contemporary worship, friendship, prayer and the study of God's word in the
power of the Spirit.
We hope that here you will find peace and hope for the future, together
with purpose and direction for your life.

Vision for 2010 and beyond
BIEC's long-standing vision is to 'sow the seeds into hearts of those passing through' - that is, to pass on a blessing to those who visit our services - but also to 'drop seeds at the river-bank': making the offer of new life to the tide of people of many nations who pass through our city.
I believe that God is calling us afresh to reach out in love to others. Every time we hear God's word - on Sundays or a weekend away, in our small-groups or quietly on our own, He says to us again: 'Here is seed for you to receive - take it and go, sow it on the river-banks of the world, to bring love and life to others!'
- We must prayerfully, but actively seek opportunities to offer our faith to others: in our homes and workplaces, shops, streets and schools, and not just at our church premises.
- We have to ensure that our time, energy, people and resources are being focussed not only on building God's community, but on reaching out in God's love to those who don't yet know him.
How do we share good news with others? Jesus in Matthew 7: 6-12 effectively says this: 'Speak wisely, pray for opportunity, expect God's response, live out the gospel!' Our response to this call of God to sow seed is the greatest measure that we have truly received God's word into our hearts. Ted
