What we provide

 

Family

We are a family-oriented Church and aim to cater for all age-groups. During Sunday services, we provide a staffed nursery for under-threes, a Sunday-School for 3-9 year-olds.

ECHO is for students (10 to 14 years old) and meets during Sunday service. ECHO is based on Ephesians 5:1-2 Be IMITATORS of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

On fifth Sundays all age-groups join as a whole church family throughout the service to learn together and to share in faith and worship.

 

Small Groups

Many people at BIEC are now part of one of the small-groups which are scattered around the Bern area. The aim of the groups is to build up the Church community by friendship with prayer, bible study, discussion, worship and social activities. An additional focus is to encourage each other in sharing Jesus' love and the good news of the gospel with all those around us. Groups are currently meeting in Central Bern; Schönbühl / Münchenbuchsee; Wabern / Koniz and in Konolfingen. Most meet weekly for about 10-12 weeks, with breaks during holiday periods.

There are additional groups for the student-and-20s age-group, and for Ladies. During Advent and Lent we have held extra groups for just 4-6 weeks. We are also running occasional 8 week Alpha-live courses as an introduction for those wishing to explore the Christian faith.

Prayer & Care

Many at BIEC are involved in caring for others both within the Church family and beyond.

A small team of leaders and other Church members offer prayer ministry after the services and ongoing support as required.

 

Worship

Worship through music is provided by a committed team of singers and musicians led by Miguel Terrazos and Charity Itona on piano and guitar. We welcome new musicians and singers; please make contact initially with one of the music team leaders.
